  1. Dear Ben,

WOW! Defying Gravity! How cool was that? You must have been on cloud 9!

Did you get a chance to see anybody from The Sing-Off?

Dad made it to California yesterday. He's having a good time with his Peace Corps buddies. Athena and I are enjoying the peace and quiet around here. Actually, to be honest, I am enjoying it, and Athena is just sniffing around for her boys.

I'm sure you're so busy having fun that it's hard to find time to write, so please just try this ten second challenge- write five words that tell what you've loved most about the trip so far. It would be appreciated!

I am proud of you and your friends for scoring gold in the competition, but the real gold comes from the memories and friendships you are making. You kids are lucky to be working under such amazing leaders. Be sure to let them know they are appreciated!

    That's all for now.

Richard Scarry's Best Mom Ever (I still love using that line even though you're no longer a huge Richard Scarry fan)

  2. Dear Nell:

It sounds like Cincinnati went very well. I never thought that standing in Kentucky would make it into a photo album. Alana is asleep, Sunny is peripatetically wandering across the desk looking for chipmunks, and Mom is squinting over my shoulder with her zebra glasses. We miss you--Taboo is too easy having too guess my own words.

    Love,

    Dad and family

  3. Sydney, I have been texting with Ms. Ginn this morning and she is very proud of you and excited about all you have done. Somehow I am sure she takes credit for all you have done. Ha ha. It is great to see you in pictures, though in some of the group shots it is a challenge to locate you in the back. Daddy is in NY and Spencer and I are trying to entertain ourselves. By the way my hair looks terrible without you here. I would love to get a note from you, so give it a try if you have time. Love you Sunshine!

    Love, Mater

  4. Dear Nell,

I miss you so much. Did you get our letter from the hotel? I can't wait to see you in 3 days!!!! Sunny misses you a lot, and is very determined to make my quilt covered in cat fur. Cinnamon is his usual lazy self, but I think he misses you too. We have had no more "gifts" since you left. Last night we made rice pudding. It took a really long time. I was sad that you were not there to taste it, because it was really good. Daddy put a picture of you on your chair, but it just makes it look more empty. I miss you so much.

    Love,

    Alana
